Persistent Resolve and Give Away!

This is the face I make when writing  a query letter...



This is the sign that blinks in my mental rear-view mirror after I hit send... 




 

After one Dear Author form rejection, three days and three glasses of wine later, I see this around the bend in my future...

    Well, you already know my story since it happened in front of you...but it was truly amazing to meet Libba Bray. That definitely accomplished a life goal. Love this giveaway!

    I'm going to say two people.  RL Stine for his amazing books that kept me reading all through my youth.  My love of his books kept me reading as an adult which led me to Stephenie Meyer.  It's her story (and amazing books) that got me back into writing.

    Truth is that the best answer for me is Stephenie Meyer's because Twilight was my first real taste of YA books. But really, I would have missed so much more if Cassandra Clare had given up. I love all her books and I can reread them often and still enjoy them again and again. Really glad she didn't give up.

    What if Mildred A Wirt (Carolyn Keene) hadn't written the first 23 books in the Nancy Drew series? Yeah, someone else would have been paid the $125 per book but would it have been the same? My love of reading and solving mysteries might not ever have happened.
