Halloween Happiness

It’s Halloween! I love Halloween.

I love the possibilities of deciding who I want to pretend to be.Scary, funny, creepy, ghoulish, clever, or even sexy (I tried this once and dressed as up Pam Anderson, I won a trip to Boston and got to meet Maroon 5, but the “other” attention was too overwhelming. Not my cup of Joe) it’s so hard to choose.

Here’s what I did the last couple of years…

2009 with my friend Marna
2010 at Disneyland

This year I’m going as a Harry Potter inspired witch. I didn’t want to conform to being a character that already exists. I wanted to pretend I AM part of the Harry Potter world… just for one night.

So I Googled, yes I Google, all of the film’s female characters I could find. Then I ran to a big Halloween store and bought a black robe, a black hat, a broom and a wand. Next I went to the Goodwill and found some totally eclectic dresses, yes – I’m wearing two, plus crazy jewelry, gloves, tights, a belt and an insane tapestry purse with cats on it! I can’t wait; my selections were so crazy that my husband asked if I was going as a bag-lady (He suffers from lack of imagination). I put his wizard costume together and he wanted everything to match (yawn). I’ll be sure to post pictures.

Now, you know what I’m doing, but I want to know about YOU! Do you dress up? What have you done in the past and what will you be this year? Do you choose to scare or do you just want to step into the shoes of someone else for a day?

And just for fun before you run, here's some spooktasic Halloween stuff you might enjoy...

Have a safe and adventurous Halloween.
